Local NYS Municipalities can now apply for a $50,000 Cyber Security Grant

Attention: Local Government Jurisdictions, counties, cities, towns, and villages.

Did You Know You Local Government Municipalities in NYS are invited to apply for the FY2020 Cyber Security Grant, which offers up to $50,000 in funding. Applications are due to the NYS Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services - Grants Program Administration (DHSES-GPA) on May 5, 2022, by 5:00 pm.

The FY2020 Cyber Security Grant Program (CSGP) is designed to aid local jurisdictions in enhancing their ability to identify, protect, detect, respond to and recover from cyber incidents as well as enhance the cyber security posture of government organizations within New York State’s counties and local municipalities.  Funding for this program is sourced from the FY2020 State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) grant. Only units of local government (counties, cities, towns, and/or villages) that are registered members of the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) will be eligible to apply for up to $50,000 in aid.

This funding can offset costs associated with critical cybersecurity services offered by Pupfish Sustainability Solutions, Stetson Cyber Security, LI Tech Advisors, and Cerini and Associates. These services, which are already required by law include Cyber Risk Assessments, Penetration (Pen) Testing, Gap Analysis, IT Auditing, Incident Response Plans, Cyber Policy Creation and Maintenance, and the final critical step, Secure IT Asset Disposition to include Data Destruction and eRecycling.
