Eliminate the risk of a catastrophic data breach.

Sensitive data is everywhere.

From laptops to servers to cellphones to printers, companies of all sizes in every industry rely heavily on technology containing sensitive data.  While responsible companies take measures to safeguard against a data security threat by using protective software and firewalls, they often leave themselves vulnerable to a catastrophic data breach when retiring outdated IT assets and electronics.

Deleting, formatting, or damaging (hammering, drilling, smashing, or even running over) a hard drive will NOT erase the sensitive data, which remains recoverable, and is often the source of a costly data leak.

Pupfish works with you to minimize the effort and cost in the disposition of your obsolete devices. Our process guarantees ALL data is destroyed, virtually eliminating the risk of a costly data breach.

  • Data sanitization is the process of irreversibly removing or destroying data stored on a memory device with the use of software to overwrite all areas of the media. It is important to use the proper technique to ensure that all data is purged. A device that has been sanitized has no usable residual data, and even with the assistance of advanced forensic tools, the data will never be recovered.

Pupfish Sustainability Solutions can meet up to 24 International Standards of Data Destruction depending on the needs of the client, including US Department of Defense’s DoD 5220.22-M. By default, Pupfish destroys data on all devices according to NIST 800-88 guidelines.

  • Degaussing is a method of permanently erasing data from working and non-working hard drives, tape, and floppy disks. Degaussing destroys data by delivering a powerful magnetic pulse that destroys all magnetic domains on the disk platters. Demagnetizing or degaussing a hard drive renders it completely unusable.

Degaussers are classified into different builds and features to correspond with the data storage you wish to destroy. Pupfish utilizes a High Definition 5T degausser with patented internal NSA Approved Field Verification. We measure its field strength and receive results in real-time, ensuring your media is always degaussed to National Security Agency standards.

  • Pupfish takes the degaussing process one step further; after degaussing, we physically fold the device utilizing our NSA-approved DB-4000 Hard Drive Destroyer which meets NSA guidelines for the most sensitive data.

Digital media such as Smartphones, mini-tablets USB-sticks, and SSD's are physically destroyed by shredding to 4x15mm particles using our FLASHEX solid state shredder. This device meets all industry standards including HIPAA, NIST, and Department of Defense except for NSA which must be combined with our sanitization process.

  • We can degauss and destroy hard drives at your facility. Our data access team is NAID-trained, drug-tested, and background-checked. All clients will receive data destruction and e-recycling certification documentation, which guarantees regulatory compliance and assures you will pass any third-party audit.

Permanent Protection

From the most active IT systems and devices to the retired equipment that has been piling up in storage, your company is responsible for the data it possesses and thus liable for any data breaches or incidents that occur while that data exists.

Avoid a costly and embarrassing post-life data breach and ensure that sensitive data is permanently deleted with Pupfish.

Certifications & Record Keeping

During the entire pickup and destruction process, Pupfish tracks and records all devices. We provide detailed reporting and certification which holds up against the most rigorous audit, including:

  • Detailed Serialized Reports

  • Data Destruction Certificates

  • E-Recycling Certificates

Chain of Custody

Pupfish Sustainability Solutions is dedicated to protecting your data. Our secure chain of custody starts from the moment we take possession of your equipment, through the transportation of equipment back to our facility. All NAID AAA certified data destruction is performed by fully vetted technicians, and is never outsourced, so you can be assured that your data is being handled safely and responsibly.

Your Liability Ends with Pupfish

Let Pupfish protect your company from a catastrophic post-life data breach.

Did you know? Data on devices that have been taken out of service (such as old computers, printers, and decommissioned hard drives) is known as data at rest. Data at rest is data at risk of a potential breach.

Whether you’re upgrading your current IT system, transitioning to the Cloud, or simply deciding what to do with retired devices that have been taking up space in your office or warehouse, don’t let your data at rest fall into the wrong hands.
